About the Journal

Focus and scope

Studia lexicographica is an interdisciplinary journal of lexicography and encyclopaedistics. It publishes papers from all fields of research, especially the humanities and social sciences, that correspond to lexicography and encyclopaedistics as a branch in the field of information and communication sciences in Croatia, and to the production of encyclopedic works. The basic direction of the journal is threefold: to contribute to information and communication sciences through researching the models of collecting, processing, organising, and disseminating knowledge; to make theoretical contributions to all research fields represented in lexicographic and encyclopedic publications; and documentational research, especially archival and bibliographical, in all fields of social sciences and humanities as the basis of lexicographic and encyclopedic activity.

Studia lexicographica publishes original scientific papers, preliminary communications, scientific reviews and professional papers that have not previously been published in another printed or electronic medium, as well as supporting content of a professional nature, such as reviews of scientific and professional publications. Exceptionally, or on special occasions, it may also publish editorials written by journal editors or an expert chosen for this task, conference presentations, bibliographies of journals or other publications, etc.

Publishing frequency

The journal is published twice a year.

Open access policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Since 2016, papers published in the journal were available under the license Creative Commons: Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International, and since 2023 they have been available under the license Creative Commons: Attribution 4.0 International.

Archiving

Authors can deposit the accepted version of their paper (i.e. final draft post-refereeing) on their personal website or institutional repository, provided that it is clearly indicated that it is the version accepted for publishing in Studia lexicographica, with a link to the journal's website.

Authors can deposit the publisher's version/PDF in any repository provided that the published source is acknowledged with appropriate bibliographic citation (authors, manuscript title, journal title, volume, issue, year, page numbers and DOI).

All papers are deposited at Hrčak (Central portal of Croatian scientific journals), DOAJ, the Croatian DOI, Digital Collections of the National and University Library in Zagreb, Croatian Web Archive and the repository of The Miroslav Krleža Institute of Lexicography.

Indexing

The journal is indexed in the databases ERIH PLUS (European Reference Index for the Humanities) and DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals). It is also available at the Portal of Croatian scientific and professional journals – HRČAK
